Learn More About Steve
I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was the first person in my family to go far away for college, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in engineering management.
I stayed in Nashville for 18 years. Early 2000s Nashville was an exciting place, and reminds me often of Louisville today. During that time I met my wife Jocelyn (in the Baltimore airport- true story!), got married, and had our son. Later, I took a job at a firm in Philadelphia, shortly before our daughter was born. In 2021, another opportunity brought our family to Louisville, and we were fortunate to find a home in Seneca Gardens. In 2024, I was honored to be elected as a City Commissioner, and I hope you’ll give me the opportunity to serve all of our nearly 700 great residents as your next Mayor.
I am an environmental engineer at a nationwide consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure. I lead a team of about 70 engineers and designers supporting projects all over the country meant to keep our waterways safe. When I’m not dealing with dirty water, I make the time for things like:
-
Active member and lector at St Agnes Church
-
Soccer and basketball coach
-
Volunteer and officer in Knights of Columbus
